From the Federal Census,
Ithaca City Directory and family members, I have been able to piece
together some of the family. I'm still gathering family Obituaries to add
more information. If anyone has something I do not have, please feel free to
email me by clicking here They all seem to
have come to the US in 1905, but I have not been able to locate the records
as of yet. I'm still looking.

Story from Pam Demark about Andrew:
ie: Turcsik Genealogy - you asked about Andrew Turcsik - my Mom's brother.
He was known as "Gump" to most folks who knew him. He was a wonderful
person. He lived next door to us on Taber St. in the family home. He kind of
inherited the house once the siblings signed off. I vaguely remember when
that took place, they had to locate the siblings that were not in the area.
If I remember correctly, maybe that took place in the early 60s, but Uncle
Gump always lived in that house, until the houses in that area of the city
were taken for the "flood control" (a very sore subject to the residents of
the West End).
Uncle Gump was never married as far as I know. He was a laborer by trade. He
also was a heavy drinker (at times), a "binge drinker" would describe him
well. He would be sober for months, and then go off on a binge that lasted
weeks. But, he had a big heart, and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for
a person in need, if he had the means to do so. "Uncle Gump" was a person my
brothers & I looked up to. But we had a miniature Douqeshound (sp.)
"hotdog", that lived life to bite Uncle Gump whenever he had the chance.
Uncle Gump teased him terribly. It was very funny. Every time Uncle Gump
would step foot outside or in our house the dog would go after him, if the
dog was around to see him.
Never Married
